Bogie was allegedly purchased as " a quarter wolf" in the state of New Hampshire. He was a wedding gift to Adam's mother from his father. Bogies father was a purebred Siberian Husky, his mother was " half wolf, half Siberian husky. Bogie is what started Adam's love and ever lasting connection to wolves and wolfdogs.
Lobo-2000-2014
Adam and his family adopted Lobo from the local Animal Shelter when he was a freshman in High School. He was allegedly a Husky/ Samoyed mix. With his long body, elongated muzzle, keel shaped chest, long legs, cow hocked back legs and a beautiful thick mane around his neck the DeParolesa family felt that he might be part wolf just like their first dog Bogie. Behaviorally, he loved to scent roll like a wolf and was easily startled. Lobo was certainly a handful. He was also aggressive to any dog that had a naturally high tail carriage. Lobo had a beautiful howl and often sang when sirens drove by. He was quite the character. Unfortunately DNA testing for dogs was just coming out and didn't test for wolf or coyote. His results did show that one parent was a mutt and the other parent was 50% Siberian Husky with the other half being unresolved/unknown. We will never know for sure if he had any wolf DNA in him. He was a excellent walking companion and Adam often took him hiking. He was known around town for sticking his head out the window and yelp barking! Sadly Lobo had to be humanely euthanized when he was 14 years old. He had developed Arthritis and was unable to comfortably get around anymore. He will never be forgotten.
