My love of Wolves started as a child. Growing up my family had two low content wolfdogs. I obsessively watched the movie "White Fang". When i was 12 years old, my parents took me to Wolf Hollow in Ipswich MA to visit. I visited several times over the years especially when five wolf puppies arrived the spring of 2011. I officially began volunteering there in July of 2012. Two months prior to me volunteering I completed a 5 day behavior seminar at Wolf Park in Battle Ground Indiana. I have visited over 16 wolf and wolfdog facilities around the country where i have met hundreds of canines of the lupine variety. Some of those facilities I also volunteered my time at. From January 2016 until July 2018 I served as a non voting member on the board of directors at The Wolf Mountain Nature Center in Smyrna NY. In 2014 I became a member of the Northeast Wolf Coalition who works towards making sure the wild gray wolf is protected should it ever naturally repopulate to the North East region.
In addition to working with Wolves and wolfdogs I also spent five years volunteering/working for the Animal Rescue League of Boston. In addition I have enjoyed working for a dog/cat boarding kennel in a Veterinary office as well as being a dog walker and pet sitter too. Proudly I own and have owned several dogs, fish and several types of rodents. I currently am the Secretary of the Irish Terrier Club of New England.

The North East Wolf Refuge got its start when our founder (Adam DeParolesa) saw a great need for a Wolf and Wolfdog sanctuary/rescue in the North East region. Many states in the area have illegalized wolfdog ownership but New Hampshire remains legal as long as the animal is spayed/neutered and vaccinated. There is no other sanctuary for wolfdogs in the state of New Hampshire so the fate of many misplaced animals that live in the area lies in the balance. With that being said, how wonderful would it be to give solace and permanent sanctuary to any wolves or wolfdogs in need, especially in an area where the niche is not being met ? Adam thought it would make a perfect place to establish one. In April of 2020 The North East Wolf Refuge became a 501c3 licensed non profit organization. In the next few years we will be looking for land to buy and build our refuge.
Mission Statement- Dedicated to providing life long peace, friendship and sanctuary for all permanent residents in our care, while also promoting responsible wolfdog ownership through education.
